The clouds last night were dark and bold. They begged to be photographed but driving on I-95 required attention. As I looked in my rearview mirror, I saw the skyline of my beloved city. I could not help but smile at such a sight of my adopted hometown. I drove for an hour to go to The College of New Jersey to help with the beginning of a new chapter of my sorority. It was a delightful time. But that drive keeps echoing in my head.... the beauty of the clouds, the shimmer of the buildings, and the flow of traffic. It is moments like those that remind me why I love this city.....

February, and really much of this spring semester, has been a bit of a rush. Life has circled and circled around me providing happiness, tears, memories, delights, sorrows and journeys. And now, as we approach the close of another month and in fact season, I'm finally able to put both feet back on to the ground. I'm thinking big thoughts - for life, for my relationships, for my life's work. I'm reflecting on where I am and where I'm going. I'm looking forward to spring - both the season and the energy. I'm eager to not travel but stay put and enjoy the home I have made. As life gets a bit quieter, I'm hoping to re-engage myself in creative pursuits. I want to get back into the woods, enjoying the hum of nature. I want to experiment, finding new favorite recipes and other favorites to make my life richer. More than anything, I want to appreciate what makes me happy.

A good deal. That's what this photo is. I went to Marshall's this past weekend with the man friend. (Poor thing, he hates shopping. I tried not to torture too long.) I walked through the home goods section, my favorite place in this particular store. I contemplated a new griddle as mine is a little warped (yes, like me). And then I saw this gem. A new dutch oven for cooking soup or chili or other delightful dishes. For - are you sitting down? - $40! Calphalon friends for 40 dollars. Now, I'm thinking about making chili so I can use my new gorgeous pan. Yeah, I'm easy to please.....
