Spring Loves

:: The blossoms on the trees - pink and white and smelling so pretty.

:: Crushing on the colored denim trend. Add rain boots and I just might swoon.

:: Daylight. More and more of it.

:: The Hunger Games. I just finished the 2nd book yesterday and started the third today.

:: A couple of good trips to the arboretum already. Seriously one of my favorite places in Philly.

:: Spring cleaning. Yes, it really is a favorite. I love cleaning things up, opening the windows and airing out the place and getting rid of clutter.

:: The return of Phillies baseball.

:: March Madness (even if the Terps weren't in it).

:: Walks in the woods by my home. I didn't do much of it this winter and it's good to be back in there!

:: My new terrarium, crafted yesterday at a class in a store by my home. Photos to come when it is no longer rainy!

:: Going to see Casablanca in the theater tonight!

My Weekend

via InstagramA walk in the neighboorhood. Lots of pink "snow" starting to fall from the trees.
A warm cup of tea on the couch while enjoying CBS Sunday Morning.
Saturday night's sunset. It might have been over a shopping plaza (instead of the ocean like the manfriend's photo showed me) but it was lovely.

How was your weekend?

Crafting Mojo

It seems like I haven't had a lot of crafting mojo lately. I'm not entirely sure why I'm not creating, although there has been a lot going on in my life that has monopolized my attention. However, I might just be getting that mojo back! Because I just bought this pattern...

Eventually, I'll need to look for some fabric too. I'm thinking linen. I love linen dresses in summer. Any thoughts on a color?

I also bought this kit from Alicia. It doesn't ship until later this month but I'm looking forward to starting it already. Although I will say I have no idea where I'll put the final project when it's done!

And although it's not exactly crafting, I signed up for a terrarium class at the local garden shop. The class was $15, which includes potting soil, stones, wine and snacks. (They had me at wine!) I'm looking forward to playing in the dirt, meeting others and adding a little green to my home.

What sort of crafting have you been up to?

Philly Flower Show

On Friday, my mom, our family friend and I went to the Philadelphia Flower Show. It's a huge show and the convention center was mobbed.
The flowers are simply stunning!
The above canopy was over the entrance. And there was a waterfall set up inside!!
It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I've now visited the show.
And I took this moss home with me. It's sitting next to my air plant now.

Weekend Adventure Again

The manfriend and I went away last weekend. We had a groupon he had bought a couple of weeks ago for dinner, a night's stay and two ski passes. We left after work on Friday night and got to the Blakeslee Inn in time for a delicious dinner. We both had the buffalo steak, sweet potato fries and cauliflower. Conveniently, he is not much of a cauliflower fan so I got some of his... I traded meat. It was really quite good. As was the truffle martini I had. Yum.

The hotel room had a bit more to be desired.... it's a nice space and quite clean. It was just the worst bed either of us has slept in for quite some time. Luckily, it was only one night.
The next morning we checked out and headed to the Chat and Chew for breakfast. Yep, that's the name. We did both.... although not at the same time. The omelets we both had were good. And then off to his friend's condo. The men and kids went skiing and the women (and dog) stayed and chatted. It was a lovely, quick little getaway. Thanks manfriend!
